Stewardship Revision
We have been listening, and working to improve the Stewardship Curriculum!
Stewardship has been used by families since 2005. Since then we have received many good suggestions for improvement from parents. Some suggested more student pages, and others thought a test booklet would be a good idea. We were also encouraged to coordinate the devotional lessons with the student book. All of these ideas are now realities in the new 2008 revision. And while we were upgrading the content, graphic designers improved the look. We hope you enjoy the result.
In each lesson of the student text there are now four pages. The first two are referred to as lesson practice pages since they focus on the new topic. The next two pages are called systematic review pages. They also have queries from the new material and they provide review of previously learned content. In these review pages there are some questions that do not have an exact right or wrong answer, but which were written to facilitate dialogue between parents and students.
Tests have also been added to the course in the form of a test booklet. The revised Stewardship Student Kit includes the new student text and the test booklet. Since we doubled the number of worksheets and created the test booklet, the cost is now $20.00 instead of $8.00. You can still use your current DVDs and teacher manual to teach this course. If you are ordering a new Student Kit, we will add at no additional charge, a new set of solutions, so that you will have the answers to all of the worksheets in the text, as well as to the tests. This is in keeping with our commitment to support earlier editions of our curriculum.
The instruction DVD remains the same. The instruction manual is essentially the same teaching, but the answer keys have been redone to be more complete, and new solutions have been added for the additional student worksheets and tests. In 2005 it was possible to watch the DVD, read the instruction manual, and do the assignments in the student text without consulting the biblical principles found in the devotional. In the revision, students will now need to learn the scriptural principles in the Biblical Foundation book in order to answer questions in the newly added worksheets.
To integrate the math teaching with scriptural principles, the Biblical Foundation (formerly the Devotional) has been reconfigured from 38 lessons to 30 lessons corresponding to the 30 lessons in the teacher manual. Since some of the lessons have been moved or combined, we will also include, at no additional charge, a chart that you can use to integrate the scriptural teaching found in your Devotional book with the revised student text.
If you would prefer to have a new Biblical Foundation book rather than use your current Devotional book with the free comparison chart, we are offering you a new revised book for $5.00 if ordered at the same time as the Student Kit.
