Math-U-See works with regional representatives to meet the needs of the customers. The reps travel to homeschool conventions, answer questions relating to using Math-U-See and they handle the individual product orders for their specific region.



Today’s Rep highlight is Susan Crothers from McCook Nebraska.

Susan is a homeschool mom, mother of one and has been homeschooling for 10 years. Her daughter Michelle graduated in May and is now the head of the Math-U-See shipping department for their region. Michelle has been attending conventions since the time she could sleep under the tables on boxes.

Here are a some questions we asked Susan…

MUS Blog - How did you first come in contact with Math-U-See?

Susan - A friend of our Pastor’s called one day. She loves to examine curriculum to see what learning style would go best with that style of teaching. She said to Craig (our Pastor) everyone in your homeschool group should use Math U See and Susan should sell it. And that was that! And here we are 10 years later. When I went to my very first homeschool fair I was already a vendor.

MUS Blog - Tell us about the first time you met Steve Demme.

Susan - It was at the Math U See rep gathering. He sure was taller than I thought he would be. I walked right up to him, because of course I knew what he looked like. And he said… you must be Susan and had some cute comment to make us all laugh and ease the introductions. Which is so like him.

MUS Blog - What do you like best about working with MUS?

Susan - I never tire of hearing how much Math U See has helped a child and made it possible for a Mom to know they can teach math with ease. I love being able to help the families reach their goals. Helping them with Math U See is one way to make it possible to train up their children in the way they should go.

Susan - Do I like cheese? Well… yes I do.

MUS Blog - Give one fun memory of your time with MUS

Susan - One time at a restaurant with Steve Demme, Dan Sinclair (the CA rep) another vendor and several others of us. Dan and Steve played a joke on the other vendor, Andrew (who is a friend) and I wondered how we would stop laughing. We laughed so hard my stomach hurt and wondered what other people thought about all of us out of towners. We truly have had many fun times together with Steve over the years. There is no questions that Steve loves life!

The Crothers have been working with Math-U-See for around 11 years now and their region includes Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota. I had the opportunity to visiting them on my way to Alaska and I had a great time seeing the Math-U-See operation as well as singing in their kitchen as we made enchiladas. Fun times and good memories.
