Weekly Wednesday Word Problem

The bear went over the mountain,

A bear named Fred climbed Mt. Logan (the highest point in Canada) the mountain is 5950 meters high.  The problem is Fred is an American bear from Alaska and only knows American measurements.  If one meter = 3.28 feet how high is Mt. Logan in feet?
Bonus, why did Fred go over the mountain?

I figured the mountain to be 19516 ft.
Being an American bear, Fred was in Alaska which in part of the United States. He went over the mountain because the mountain is between Alaske and the rest of the United States. He wanted to get back to the sates.
